Yahoo messenger has new virus threat
Do you get messages coming through yahoo messenger and Skype that are not coming from the other party or from the person you are conversing with? The Zip file contains the worm “W32.Skyhoo.Worm,” This worm will automatically send malicious links to your contacts in yahoo messenger or skype to spread the worms. This worm is known also to infect your MS Word and Excel file. The worm can be spread through email when the victim will send word or excel file as attachment on email composed on Outlook. This advance social engineering worm will only disappear if you do not have your yahoo messenger or Skype installed.
We should be extra careful in using instant messengers now as the malware spreads rapidly and easily through the very accessible instant messengers like yahoo or Skype. This would mean that we should be very strict in installing yahoo messengers and Skype as the malware is able to block anti virus software from functioning properly and is capable to hide itself. So before downloading anything that seems to be free for public use, think twice. These instant messengers are free and very easy to install however not the worth once you got your computer infected.
